Chouaib El Bouhali is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta, a teacher at Edmonton Public Schools, and a director of Edmonton Institute of Diversity Equity Research and Studies. He holds a PhD from the Educational Policy Studies department in the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta. He has experience in teaching K-12 systems in Canada and overseas.
He has also taught undergraduate courses in education at the University of Alberta. As a certified settlement practitioner by Alberta Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (AAISA), Chouaib has worked with several NGOs in Alberta that support the settlement of refugees and immigrants.
He contributed to research projects at the Centre for Global Citizenship Education & Research, University of Alberta. His research interests include decolonizing knowledge, critical pedagogy, interpretive policy analysis, social justice, teacher education, educational leadership, Southern/Indigenous epistemological of education
