Edmonton Institute for Diversity Equity Research and Studies (EIDERAS)

Youssra Badr is a diversity consultant, educator, and equity advocate with over 15 years of experience supporting schools, non-profits, and public institutions in creating inclusive, culturally responsive environments. As the founder of Unity Crescent Consulting, she collaborates with organizations to design and deliver professional learning, review policies through an anti-oppressive lens, and develop strategic frameworks that foster systemic change and community accountability.

Youssra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education in Educational Policy Studies, from the University of Alberta. She is currently pursuing a Master of Counseling, where she is integrating trauma-informed, identity-conscious approaches into her emerging therapeutic practice. Her work bridges research, practice, and lived experience, drawing from her perspective as a Canadian born Muslim woman of Egyptian descent, to support individuals and organizations in creating spaces where no one has to leave parts of themselves behind to belong.

Known for her grounded and relational approach, Youssra brings a deep commitment to equity, cultural humility, and meaningful change in every space she enters.
