Edmonton Institute for Diversity Equity Research and Studies (EIDERAS)

Dr. Michael Kariwo is an instructor at the University of Alberta, and a research fellow  in the Faculty of Education,  Centre for Global Citizenship Education . He is also a Research Associate in the Faculty of Nursing where he contributes to policy analysis in a multi-disciplinary research team.


His published books include, Interrogating Models of Diversity within a Multicultural Environment “Resources and Performance of Academics at Universities”; “Education and Development in Zimbabwe: A Social, Political and Economic Analysis”; A comparative analysis of Higher Education Systems: The issues, challenges and dilemmas.

He has contributed several book chapters and published articles on education and development as well as policy analysis. He is a reviewer for a number of journals and book publishers.

Over 20 years in education and higher education as a practitioner and administrator. 

Can provide tailor-made services for most education consultancies, to individual institutions, government bodies, non-governmental as well as international organizations. Current projects include research on immigrant refugee policies for integration in Canada and higher education and development.
